Horses Evacuated as Wildfires Sweep Through Southwestern France. Several horses have been evacuated to safety as fast moving wildfires continue to spread across southwestern France. The flames are threatening not only residential areas but also horse farms and agricultural properties. Firefighters and emergency crews are battling the blazes under extremely difficult conditions while large numbers of animals are being moved out of harm's way as a precaution. (July 27, 2026)

Berlin police identified a man from an Islamist background as the main suspect and launched a massive manhunt. The 21 year old German Lebanese suspect, Abdul Ballout, fled on foot after his vehicle crashed into a tree in the Tiergarten park.
