JD Vance stood in Georgia. The Akins Ford Arena was more than three quarters empty. Turning Point USA had miscalculated. That is how the evening began.
He spoke anyway. About Iran, about young voters, about a man who is no longer alive. Charlie Kirk was shot in September at a Turning Point USA event at a university in Utah. Vance said Kirk had been the glue - the one who could hold together the people who wanted war and those who never wanted it.
The far right conservative Kirk had warned when Israel attacked Iran alone on June 13, 2025 with Operation Rising Lion - nuclear facilities, military leadership, missile programs. He said direct US involvement could split the MAGA movement. Nine days later, the United States intervened anyway and destroyed the deep facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan with bunker busters - facilities Israel could not reach. Kirk was shot in September. No one heard his warning anymore, not because he had ethics, but because it was about MAGA.
Vance admitted something that is rarely heard so directly. Many young voters did not like the course in the Middle East. He understood that, he said. But he did not ask them to change their minds. He asked them to stay anyway. Not to disengage because they disagreed on one point. That is how you take the country back, he said. It is the sentence of a man who can no longer demand conviction - and instead asks for presence.
Then came the outrage …
About ten minutes in, someone from the audience shouted, “Jesus Christ does not support genocide.” Vance kept speaking. Minutes later, another voice: “You’re killing children. You’re bombing children.” They were referring to Iran, as we later confirmed. The hall was nearly empty, but those who showed up had something to say.
Vance kept speaking …
Then he spoke about negotiations. About more than twenty hours during which he led the American delegation. Trump does not want a small deal, Vance said. He wants the big one. To make Iran give up nuclear weapons - and invite it into the global economy in return. Economic rise as the tradeoff. To bring the Iranian people into a world they have never been part of in Vance’s entire life. It sounds like a promise. It also sounds like an offer no one has accepted so far.
Then came the Pope. Pope Leo had said God never stands on the side of those who wield the sword. Vance asked: was God not with the Americans who liberated France? Was God not with those who opened the Holocaust camps? The room applauded. No one asked what that has to do with Iran.
Vance said ending aid to Ukraine is one of the things he is most proud of. He said it the way someone says something they have long believed and never regretted.
In Bradenton, Florida, a voter, John North, spoke on camera about the image that shows Trump as Jesus. It is a disgrace, he said. He is upset. How egocentric can someone be. He is ashamed. John North voted for Trump.
Vance spoke. The arena was empty. That is how the evening ended.

Herrlich, dass die Halle fast leer war und ein paar kritische Zwischenrufe laut wurden.
Aber auf der anderen Seite wurde bei kontroversen Themen applaudiert.
Leider vergessen MAGA schnell.
