Doctor Trump and the Invented Disease - When a President Casts Himself as the Healer

byTEAM KAIZEN BLOG

3. July 2026

There comes a point when self-promotion crosses into something far more difficult to define, and on Thursday Donald Trump crossed that line once again. He shared an artificial intelligence-generated video on social media portraying himself as a physician, complete with a stethoscope around his neck and the words Donald J. Trump, M.D. embroidered above the pocket of his white lab coat. The patients of this self-appointed doctor are some of his most prominent critics, and the condition he claims to treat is called Trump Derangement Syndrome, or TDS. It is not a real medical diagnosis. It is a political slur the president and his supporters use to describe those who strongly oppose his policies. One man turns disagreement with himself into a mental illness and, in the same breath, appoints himself the only doctor capable of curing it.

The video features AI-generated versions of several actors, including Rosie O'Donnell, John Leguizamo, Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton, Robert De Niro, and Julia Roberts. They all have one thing in common. They are well-known critics of Trump. The fabricated O'Donnell says she has suffered for more than a decade and is finally seeing results after following Doctor Trump's advice. The artificial Goldberg declares that she once believed she was beyond hope, but now notices a difference after beginning his treatment plan. The AI version of De Niro claims he could no longer eat or sleep, was constantly angry, and made everyone around him miserable. The fake Julia Roberts says she aged twenty years in just two years and had become genuinely fearful about her future. They are fabricated confessions placed into the mouths of real people without their consent, delivered with the cold precision of a technology that no longer recognizes boundaries.

Then the healer himself appears. His AI-generated likeness says he did not know whether some of these people could even be helped because they were so completely lost. Fortunately, he says, he is Doctor Trump and he has a treatment plan. That plan consists of three instructions. Turn off the news, say your prayers, and drink Diet Coke, just as he does. If you follow those steps, he promises, you will notice a remarkable difference in your life. A president who presents a soft drink and the rejection of unwelcome news coverage as the cure for emotional distress reveals far more about himself than he likely realizes. Anyone who sees criticism as an illness inevitably comes to see obedience as health, and that is an idea with no place in a democracy.

The video joins a growing collection of similar performances. In April, Trump shared an AI-generated image portraying himself as Jesus healing the sick while fireworks, bald eagles, and fighter jets filled the sky behind him. After criticism from some of his own supporters, he deleted the image but insisted he had simply seen a doctor. In reality, the image showed him wearing no stethoscope or lab coat, but instead a flowing white robe with a red sash across his shoulders, while light poured from his hands. In February, he shared an AI-generated video depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as monkeys. It is a trajectory that runs from self-deification to the dehumanization of others, and both spring from the same source.

The use of this invented disease becomes especially disturbing when one recalls how far Trump has already taken the idea. After the death of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, the president claimed that, according to reports, their deaths were the result of the anger Reiner had provoked in others through his supposedly incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. A man dies, and the most powerful man in the country turns that death into supposed evidence for an illness he himself invented. At that point, satire ends and something else begins, something that can only be described as cruelty.

People can laugh at a video like this, and perhaps that is precisely the point. But beneath the humor lies a method far older than artificial intelligence itself. Once political opponents are declared mentally ill, there is no longer any need to engage with what they say. They need only be treated, managed, and pitied. Authoritarian systems have a long and dark history of equating dissent with madness, because once political opponents are labeled mentally unstable, they lose first their voice and then their dignity. The fact that this now arrives disguised as a lighthearted promotional video does not make it less dangerous. It makes it more dangerous because it hides behind the cover of a joke.

No one asked the actors whose likenesses were misused for permission. Reporters have sought comment from them. But the real question is not directed at the celebrities. It is directed at a country that has grown accustomed to a president using the tools of fabrication, deception, fraud, and manipulation to ridicule his critics. Perhaps that is the real illness of our time. Not the invented syndrome attributed to others, but the very real numbness toward a man who no longer recognizes the line between public office and mockery, between power and arbitrariness. Doctor Trump prescribes Diet Coke and prayers. What the country truly needs is the simple ability to recognize when a joke stops being a joke.

Unfassbar. Diese eigene Selbstüberschätzung ist doch die eigentliche Krankheit. Die andere Krankheit ist unsere Abstumpfung. Mich würde mal interessieren ob sich die Obamas denn gegen die Darstellung als Affen gewehrt haben. Weiß man da etwas?

Schritt 1. Ausschalten von FOX News
Schritt 2 keine Nutzung sozialer Medien
Schritt 3 das Lesen der amerikanischen Verfassung, mindestens 5x täglich
Schritt 4 das Lesen der amerikanischen Geschichte ohne White washing.
