Trump Fears Empty Seats on Independence Day
Donald Trump wanted to turn the 250th anniversary of the United States into the biggest political showcase of his second term. But behind the scenes, concern is growing that the July 4 celebrations could become an embarrassing failure. After the disappointing turnout at the patriotic Great American State Fair, White House staff now fear that Trump's rally on the National Mall could also be marked by large sections of empty seats.ican State Fair rechnen Mitarbeiter des Weißen Hauses damit, dass auch Trumps Großkundgebung auf der National Mall viele freie Plätze zeigen wird.
The event will be held outdoors even though temperatures in Washington are expected to approach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The fireworks are not scheduled until 11 p.m., and unlike previous years, attendees will not be allowed to bring coolers. Even inside the White House, the planning has reportedly drawn criticism. One official is said to have questioned who thought holding such a late event in that kind of heat was a good idea. There are also concerns that many people who reserved tickets simply will not show up. That is exactly what Trump's advisers appear to fear. The patriotic event itself was already plagued by technical problems, weather delays, and attendance far below expectations. Trump publicly denied the visible lack of crowds and lashed out at critics. Behind closed doors, however, the search for those responsible has already begun. One person close to the president admitted they believed people would come simply because Trump was there. That assumption could collapse on America's Independence Day.
Pregnant Women Are Now in MAGA's Crosshairs
No sooner had the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship by a 5-4 vote than Trump's allies began searching for new ways to limit its impact. White House adviser Stephen Miller argued on Fox News that the United States should carefully examine whether pregnant foreign women should be allowed to enter the country at all. According to Miller, women arriving shortly before giving birth automatically secure American citizenship for their child and lifelong access to government benefits. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche described so-called birth tourism as a booming industry and argued that it should be viewed as a violation of American law. Shortly afterward, Republican Representative Lauren Boebert called for visas to be denied to pregnant foreign women altogether. The rhetoric on social media quickly became even more extreme.
One right-wing activist boasted that he immediately reported a pregnant Haitian woman to ICE after seeing her in a grocery store. Others demanded entry bans for all pregnant foreign women. Sean Davis, co-founder of the conservative outlet The Federalist, went even further by suggesting the sterilization of all foreign visitors before they enter the country. Ironically, the same political movement that has spent years warning about declining birth rates and urging women to have more children is now openly discussing treating pregnant foreign women as automatic suspects. The Supreme Court's decision did not end the debate. It pushed it into far more extreme territory.
Vance and Rubio Are Already Fighting for the Post-Trump Era

In public, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio present themselves as a united team. Both repeatedly insist they work closely together and fully support Donald Trump's foreign policy. Behind the scenes, however, their differences are becoming increasingly apparent. When the first Iran ceasefire negotiations were being organized in Pakistan, Rubio reportedly doubted they would succeed and declined to lead the American delegation. Vance seized the opportunity, repeatedly urged Trump to let him take charge, and eventually received the assignment.
Since then, Vance has become the public face of negotiations with Tehran, while Rubio has focused on Lebanon and relations with the Gulf states. Their policy differences have also become more visible. Vance has repeatedly criticized Israel's military operations against Hezbollah, arguing they complicate negotiations with Iran. Rubio has avoided such criticism and has publicly stood behind Israel. Officially, both men deny any rivalry. Trump, however, continues fueling speculation by publicly asking supporters whom they would rather see succeed him and even floating the idea of a joint ticket at one point. At the same time, Rubio has steadily expanded his influence as Secretary of State and National Security Adviser, placing close allies into key White House positions. Many observers now believe the battle for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination has already begun. No one in Trump's inner circle is willing to say it openly. Yet it has become impossible to miss.
The Price of Artificial Intelligence Is Rising Beyond the Electric Bill

Amazon and Google are coming under increasing pressure to reconcile their climate commitments with the explosive growth of artificial intelligence. New sustainability reports show that greenhouse gas emissions at both companies rose significantly during 2025. Amazon reported a 16 percent increase, reaching approximately 81 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, largely driven by expanding data centers and transportation. Google reported an overall increase of 18 percent, while its electricity consumption jumped 37 percent in a single year. The primary reason is the rapid expansion of infrastructure required to support artificial intelligence. Although Google offset part of the increase by purchasing more clean energy, its direct emissions continued to rise. Amazon, meanwhile, reported a sharp increase in emissions tied to purchased electricity. They are not alone. Microsoft and Meta also reported significant emission increases in their most recent sustainability reports. Climate researchers warn that the global expansion of data centers is currently moving faster than the transition to clean energy. Amazon insists it remains committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2040, while Google maintains its 2030 target. Even within the technology industry, however, growing numbers of experts question whether those goals remain achievable under the accelerating demand created by artificial intelligence.
Europe Is Struggling With Its Own Border System

The European Union's new biometric Entry Exit System was supposed to make border crossings faster. Instead, airlines and airports across Europe are now sounding the alarm. In a joint letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, they are asking Brussels to temporarily suspend the new controls during the peak travel months of July and August. The reason is simple - passengers are spending three to four hours waiting at passport control and missing their flights. Roughly 40 million additional travelers are expected to pass through European airports during the summer season alone.
The aviation industry warns that border checkpoints have already reached their operational limits. Aircraft are departing with empty seats because passengers cannot clear passport control in time. One of the most dramatic examples occurred at Milan Linate Airport. Of the 156 passengers booked on an EasyJet flight to Manchester, only 34 reached the gate before departure. The remaining 122 were still standing in line when the aircraft left without them. Airports in France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, and Greece warned about exactly these problems as early as April. The European Commission acknowledges that waiting times have increased but attributes the delays primarily to staffing shortages and infrastructure limitations rather than flaws in the Entry Exit System itself. The aviation industry disagrees and now warns that Europe's tourism sector could suffer lasting damage if travelers begin canceling trips because of border delays.
Brennan Takes Trump's Justice Department to Court

Former CIA Director John Brennan has gone on the offensive before prosecutors have even filed criminal charges against him. In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington, he is asking a judge to order the Justice Department to preserve every document connected to its ongoing investigation. His attorneys are already preparing a defense in case Brennan is indicted, arguing that any prosecution would be driven by political retaliation from the Trump administration. They contend Brennan became a target not because of criminal conduct, but because he has long been one of Donald Trump's most outspoken critics. For months, federal prosecutors have been investigating Brennan and several other senior Obama administration officials over the 2016 Russia investigation. Former intelligence and FBI officials have already been subpoenaed.
Brennan denies any wrongdoing and points to several developments that his legal team says raise serious concerns about the independence of the investigation. The career prosecutor originally overseeing the case stepped aside after reportedly expressing concerns about its direction. Her replacement had publicly described Brennan as a traitor and openly called for his prosecution before joining the case. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has also made little effort to hide that Brennan is among the administration's highest-profile investigative targets. Brennan's lawsuit therefore names not only Donald Trump, but also Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and several prosecutors overseeing the investigation. Brennan is seeking to preserve every memorandum, email, witness statement, and investigative record so that, if charges are ultimately filed, he can argue they were driven by political motives rather than evidence of criminal wrongdoing. If an indictment does come, the case could become one of the most significant legal battles in modern American history over allegations of politically motivated prosecution.

Vollkommen absurd etwas ohne entsprechendes Personal einzuführen.
State Fair bleibt leer 🤣🤣🤣
Herrlich!
Hier erfährt man ja sonst nichts.
