Putin Calls Tehran – Moscow Openly Sides with Iran!

Russia’s president Vladimir Putin spoke by phone on Friday with Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian. He expressed his condolences over the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and referred to numerous civilian casualties resulting from the armed attacks by the United States and Israel. It is the first officially confirmed contact between Moscow and Tehran since the beginning of the war. According to the Kremlin, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s position in favor of an immediate end to the hostilities. Violence is not a means of resolving the questions surrounding Iran or the Middle East as a whole. Russia is calling for a swift return to diplomatic negotiations.

Pezeshkian thanked Moscow for its solidarity with the Iranian people in their struggle for sovereignty and state independence. He also reportedly informed Putin in detail about the most recent phase of the military confrontations. The conversation shows how closely both states are communicating in this crisis. As the fronts in the Middle East harden, Moscow is clearly positioning itself politically at Tehran’s side.

Reporting Shows: Trump Considers Ground Troops in Iran

According to internal sources, Donald Trump has shown serious interest in deploying U.S. soldiers directly on Iranian soil. Discussions about this are said to have taken place behind closed doors. There is no official confirmation, yet the mere consideration marks a possible new stage of the conflict. Until now, the military involvement of the United States has been limited to air and naval operations. The deployment of ground troops would significantly increase the risk and draw the United States deeper into an open war. Military planning of this kind involves not only strategic objectives but also questions of duration, costs, and political consequences.

Such a step would have repercussions far beyond the region. It would put pressure on allies, further unsettle international markets, and intensify the already tense situation in the Middle East. Whether internal deliberations turn into concrete decisions remains open. But the discussion itself shows how far the conflict has already expanded.

80 Million Seized – Orbán Escalates the Conflict with Kyiv

Hungarian authorities temporarily detained seven Ukrainian citizens and seized two armored vehicles carrying cash worth around 80 million dollars. The men worked for the state-owned Ukrainian Oschadbank and, according to their own statements, were transporting 40 million U.S. dollars, 35 million euros, and nine kilograms of gold between Austria and Ukraine. Hungary cited suspicions of money laundering, released the men, but retained the funds.

Kyiv reacted sharply. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha spoke of state banditry and accused the government of Viktor Orbán of instrumentalizing the operation for domestic political purposes. Relations have already been strained since deliveries of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline were interrupted. Hungary accuses Ukraine of deliberately blocking transit, while Kyiv points to damage caused by Russian drone attacks. Orbán, who is facing important elections and is openly running his campaign against Ukraine, declared that Hungary would stop everything important for Kyiv as long as oil deliveries do not resume. He framed the confrontation as a matter of national interests and signaled political and financial measures. Ukraine warned its citizens against traveling to Hungary and spoke of arbitrary actions. The dispute over energy and influence is thus increasingly becoming an open power struggle between two neighboring states.

Trump Sharply Rejects Russia Question

During an appearance, Donald Trump was confronted with the allegation that Russia could be supporting Iran in attacks on Americans. A journalist said it sounded as if the Russians were helping Tehran with targeting and striking. Trump reacted irritably and brusquely dismissed the question. That was a stupid question at this time, he said, they were talking about something else. Reporting shows otherwise:

Russia’s Shadow Over the Gulf - How Moscow Guides Iran’s Drones and the War Reaches a New Level

In a phase of growing tensions between Washington, Tehran, and Moscow, it thus remains unclear how the U.S. government assesses possible Russian support for Iran. Instead of addressing the substance, Trump shifted the focus and ended the exchange. The scene shows how sensitive the issue has become. Indications of direct Russian involvement would significantly broaden the conflict. A clear answer was not given.

Musk in Court - Tweets, Billions, and the Question of Accountability

Elon Musk took the witness stand in San Francisco. Former Twitter shareholders accuse him of deliberately driving down the company’s stock price through public statements in order to make the 44 billion dollar acquisition cheaper. At the center of the case are his own social media posts in which he expressed doubts about the company he later purchased. Musk rejects the allegations. His statements, he argues, were not market manipulation but his honest assessment of the situation. He says he simply communicated openly what he thought about Twitter. The plaintiffs see it differently, describing a calculated strategy with financial consequences for investors.

The trial extends beyond the specific case. It touches on the broader question of what responsibility chief executives bear when they speak on platforms with audiences in the millions. A single post can move markets, shake confidence, and shift wealth. In an era of real time communication, the proceedings also test where free expression ends and market influence begins.

Drone Attack on Hotel in Erbil – U.S. Embassy Warning Comes True!

In the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, a hotel considered a safe address among foreign guests was attacked on Friday. A drone headed toward the Rotana Arjaan, explosions were heard in the vicinity, and smoke rose above the city. According to the regional government, the attack was repelled and the unmanned aircraft crashed. There are currently no confirmed reports of injuries or major damage. The timing is significant. The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad had warned only hours earlier that militias could target hotels frequented by foreigners. The autonomous Kurdistan region in northern Iraq hosts both U.S. bases and groups of Iranian Kurds in exile. Since the beginning of the war with Iran, the region has repeatedly been the target of rocket and drone attacks, most of which were intercepted. The attack on a hotel shifts the focus once again to civilian infrastructure. Erbil had long been considered a comparatively stable place in Iraq. But the series of attacks shows that this city, too, has long since become part of a larger conflict.

Guterres Warns of Loss of Control – Strait of Hormuz in Focus

U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres is sounding the alarm. The situation in the Middle East could spiral out of control if the war that began with the attacks on Iran continues to escalate. The consequences are no longer limited to one country but now affect more than a dozen states. The strikes and counterstrikes are causing enormous suffering among civilians and at the same time jeopardizing the global economy. Guterres is calling for an immediate end to the hostilities and serious diplomatic negotiations. His spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric made clear where the risks lie. The cohesion of individual states could fracture, the humanitarian situation could further deteriorate, and the situation around the Strait of Hormuz threatens to intensify dramatically. In the strategically important waterway off Iran’s southern coast, shipping traffic has nearly come to a standstill.

Oil tankers and cargo ships carrying essential goods are staying away. Rising energy prices directly affect food, transportation costs, and fertilizers. What began as a regional war is thus reaching deep into global supply chains. The warning from New York is unmistakable: If no political solution is found, it will not only be the people in the region who pay the price.

Oil Above 90 Dollars – The War Hits Gas Stations and Markets

The war against Iran has long since reached the gas pumps. The price of crude oil rose on Friday for the first time in more than two years above 90 dollars per barrel. A week ago, the U.S. benchmark was still around 67 dollars. Since the beginning of the hostilities, the increase amounts to more than 30 percent. Gasoline has also become noticeably more expensive. The average price for a gallon in the United States now stands at 3.32 dollars, an increase of eleven percent. Markets are reacting nervously. International stock exchanges declined, the benchmark S&P 500 fell 1.3 percent and slipped into negative territory for the year. The combination of rising energy costs and military escalation is weighing on an already weakening global economy.

As prices climb, the attacks continue. Israel reports the destruction of an underground bunker in Tehran that is said to have served the Supreme Leader. In Beirut, new airstrikes hit the southern suburbs, hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing. A man on the city’s shoreline says civilians are paying the price of the war. Donald Trump sharpened his tone and is demanding Iran’s unconditional surrender. Just days earlier, he had signaled a willingness to talk. At the same time, contacts are said to have been initiated between Tehran and the U.S. foreign intelligence service through intermediaries. Iran, according to its own statements, fired drones and rockets at Israel, sirens wailed in Tel Aviv. Major damage was not initially reported. But economically, the impact is already being felt.

India Grants Iranian Warship Port Access – Conflict Reaches the Indian Ocean

Amid the escalating war, India has allowed an Iranian naval vessel to dock in Kochi. The IRIS Lavan has been in port there since March 4 after reporting technical problems, according to official statements. As early as March 1, shortly after the hostilities began, the ship received emergency clearance to enter. The 2,500-ton Lavan belongs to the Hengam class and is operated by 183 sailors. According to Indian authorities, they are being accommodated in naval facilities for humanitarian reasons.

Previously, the IRIS Dena had been sunk off the coast of Sri Lanka by a U.S. submarine. Another Iranian ship, the IRIS Bushehr, sought assistance in Sri Lanka, where more than 200 crew members were taken ashore. The conflict is thus increasingly shifting to international waters. India is moving within a delicate balance between its strategic partnership with the United States and traditionally close ties with Tehran. The port of Kochi is thereby becoming, at least temporarily, a stage for global tensions.

Rockets Over Dubai – How Safe Are Flights?

As drones and rockets streak across the sky over the Gulf, thousands of travelers are asking whether they can still fly safely at all. Since the beginning of the attacks, around 30,000 flights in the Middle East have been canceled. In Dubai and Abu Dhabi, explosions occurred, a terminal was damaged, and there were injuries and fatalities caused by falling debris. Nevertheless, planes are taking off again. On Friday alone, nearly 160 aircraft departed from Dubai. The first regular Emirates flight to the United States since the beginning of the war landed in New York. On board was Gitu Ramani-Ruff with her family. Shortly before departure, she texted her sister where the wills were kept, in case something should happen. The plane landed safely.

Aviation experts currently consider the risk to passenger aircraft to be comparatively low. Airports are large targets, individual aircraft are harder to hit. Military early warning systems detect missile launches at an early stage, and airspace over endangered zones remains closed. In the Emirates, aircraft are routed along the borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman, not over the Persian Gulf. At the same time, there are disruptions of navigation signals through deliberate jamming or spoofing of position data. Authorities speak of intensive monitoring and additional training. For many travelers, however, a residual fear remains. The airport appears normal, faces are smiling. But anyone who has previously seen rockets in the night sky boards a plane differently.

Dear readers,
we do not sit in comfort and write about the world. We are where it hurts. But we do not stop at writing. We provide concrete help. We stand up for human rights and international law - as a matter of principle. Against abuse of power. Against a politics that governs through fear and sacrifices the vulnerable to serve the powerful. Looking away has never been neutral. It has always benefited those who rely on no one paying attention.
We have no publishing house behind us, no institutional hand that carries us, no subscription model that secures us. Our independence depends exclusively on regular support - only in this way can we hold accountable those who already believe they are untouchable.
