Hygiene Is a Matter of Luck – Trump’s Golf Club Fails, 18 Violations, Grade: Catastrophic

Sometimes, numbers tell more than any political statement ever could. One of them: 32 out of 100 points – that was the score awarded to the “Trump National Golf Club Bedminster” in May 2025 by the Somerset County Department of Health. A rating that, in the world of food safety, equals total failure and, according to the inspection report, poses an “unacceptable health risk.” It was the lowest score issued among the 115 registered food establishments in the region.

And all this at a place where the self-proclaimed clean man of the West, Donald J. Trump, not only plays golf but also hosts statesmen, holds ketamine dinners, and incidentally earns income through his “Revocable Trust” – a legal construct that allows him to profit privately even while serving as president.

The list of infractions reads like the script of a kitchen slasher film: soap and towels missing at multiple hand-washing stations, a sink used to store a bucket of sanitizer, mandatory hand-washing signs nowhere to be found. And then the highlight – a regular household microwave oven in the main kitchen. The inspector’s comment: “Must be removed. Only commercial grade equipment allowed.” That this is not an isolated incident but part of a pattern is confirmed by another remark: the sheer number of violations, the inspector wrote, is in itself a violation.

What remains is a mixture of absurd theater and bitter reality. While Trump continues to project the image of a sovereign host at Bedminster, his own “Law and Order” ethic slips under the stove. That it was precisely here that Elon Musk – the self-styled government modernizer – was seen playing with spoons at a dinner with Trump and Shivon Zilis only reinforces the site’s role as a decadent farewell to all seriousness.

A clip from that meeting is now circulating on social media. For many, it serves as confirmation that Musk – as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency – embodied not efficiency but a showcase of excess, vanity, and intoxication. And as rumors of his drug use continue to mount, Bedminster is recast in a new light – as the stage of an escalating circus of power, where cleanliness – both moral and physical – is at best symbolic.

Will the club issue a statement? Unclear. They’ve been asked – but if you're already skimping on soap, you probably won’t waste too many words either.
