Marco Rubio says openly what has long been decided in Washington: The United States wants to filter more strictly. Visas should not only be able to be denied before entry, but also afterward - as soon as authorities claim that someone endangers American interests. And as if that were not clear enough, Rubio states that no one has a right to a visa. Anyone who wants to come must prove why they deserve it. Period.

Trump sells this as a protective measure. In reality he is using the fear after the attack to tighten a policy whose goal was never security, but exclusion. People are not seen as visitors, but as a risk. Origin, language, name - they become criteria that can decide whether someone is allowed to board a plane or not.

Anyone seeking to enter the United States without a visa from countries such as Germany, France, or the United Kingdom would be required to disclose up to five years of their social-media history, an idea currently under consideration by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Dann kann ich eine Reise nach New York wohl vergessen.Ich habe inzwischen zuviel Sorge am Flughafen abgegriffen zu werden, weil ich im Internet ja schon einiges geschrieben habe. Meine Großmutter hat in New York gelebt und ist dort gestorben.Vielleicht habe ich zu viel Angst, aber diese Unsicherheit ist einfach da.😞
New York geht noch im Vergleich zu anderen, oder über Newark einreisen

Derzeit sollte man wirklich von Reisen in die USA absehen, wenn man nicht unbedingt hin muss.
Von den ganzen Unsicherheiten bei der Einreise und vor Ort abgesehen, sollte man dieses Regime in keinster Weise unterstützen.
Auch wenn es mir für die nicht MAGA, die auf Tourismus angewiesen sind, leid tut.
Aber nur diese Menschen können von innen heraus etwas ändern.
Dann wird die Preiserhöhung für Touris, die die Nationalparks besuchen wollen, wahrscheinlich nicht viel bringen.

Es sind nur noch reiche Menschen erwünscht, da spielt die Gesinnung kaum eine Rolle.

Der normale Tourist, der einfach in dem Land reisen will, steht ununterbrochen auf der Abschussliste.
Bei der Einreise, bei Autofahrten, wenn man von eine der vielen Überwachungskameras erfasst wird, wenn man nicht englisch spricht, einmal falsch parken… die Gründe können ganz banal sein.
Hauptsache es kann Macht demonstrieren.
Das viele Menschen vom Tourismus abhängig sind, interessiert Trump nicht.
Genau so wenig wie die Farmer und andere Berufsgruppen..
Ich bin froh dieses großartige Land vor vielen Jahren noch regelmäßig bereist habe.
Jetzt würde ich nicht einmal eine Luxusreise dorthin geschenkt nehmen.
Ich verstehe nicht, warum es nicht ganz klar eine Reisewsrnung gibt.
Stattdessen wird betont, dass es sich ja „nur“ im bestimmte Länder handelt, die betroffen sind und der normale deutsche Tourist keinerlei Probleme haben wird.
Diese Aussage halte ich für fahrlässig.
