08:30 AM Second Explosion in Weeks Hits Bulgarian Weapons Depot

A weapons depot near the village of Tsareva Livada in central Bulgaria exploded and caught fire overnight, with no injuries reported so far. According to Regional Governor Kristina Sidorova, the fire spread from warehouse to warehouse. The site is believed to be another facility operated by arms company EMCO, which reported an explosion at a different location just last month. EMCO is owned by arms dealer Emilian Gebrev, whose facilities, according to Bulgarian investigators, have previously been targeted by Russian operations. In 2024, Bulgaria issued arrest warrants for 6 Russian citizens over their alleged involvement in explosions at EMCO depots that had stored ammunition for Ukraine and Georgia. Moscow denies the allegations.

Vladimir Putin blamed the AfD's election success in Saxony-Anhalt on what he called failures by Western elites in politics, security and the economy. At first, he called the result a purely German domestic matter, but then went further and blamed the so-called "Western globalists." Putin also again portrayed the war in Ukraine as the result of Western pressure and efforts to pull Ukraine closer to NATO. Donald Trump had already welcomed the AfD's success, calling it a "populist party" that was "on the rise" because of immigration policy.

01:05 AM Houthis Move on Bab el-Mandeb - Saudi Arabia’s Most Important Oil Route Goes Down After Drone Attack

The Houthis have seized the strategic island of Perim in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and apparently also taken the coastal town of Dhubab, putting them right up against one of the world’s most important shipping routes. At the same time, Saudi Arabia’s 1,200-kilometer East-West oil pipeline was temporarily shut down after drone attacks launched from Iraq - a route that had recently been carrying 4 to 5 million barrels of oil a day. The pipeline had become crucial because it bypasses the Strait of Hormuz, which has been heavily restricted since the Iran war began. Saudi oil supply has already fallen to its lowest level in more than three decades, while crude remains above $100 a barrel. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman asked Trump for military help against the Houthis, but Washington has so far refused direct strikes and is offering only intelligence sharing and targeting support.

The collapse of trade talks between Washington and Canada has put even more pressure on Mexico to avoid a direct fight with Trump. A deal could calm Mexico’s economy - while also handing Trump a political win as Canada remains stuck in the tariff battle.

Behind the break are years of disputes over Western Sahara, the Emirates’ close ties to Morocco and the normalization of relations with Israel. What makes this especially explosive is that countries such as Tunisia and Libya could now come under pressure to choose between Algeria and the Emirates.

Rachel Scott asked Donald Trump a question about his new $5,000 promise: “We have $40 trillion in debt. If your economic policies are working, why do you need an incentive for people to turn out to vote?”

Trump: “I’m doing it as a reward for people having to put up for 5 years and 4 years with a horrible situation caused by Biden.”

Scott followed up: “You also offered tariff refund checks -”

At that moment, Trump walked straight toward her. Just a few inches apart.

“Not you. Not you.”

Scott stuck with her question: “And that didn’t happen.”

Trump, still standing right in front of her: “Not you. You’re the worst.”

A president who gets that physically close to a journalist while trying to shut down her question knows exactly what that gesture means. Scott had neither insulted nor provoked him. She had simply reminded him that he had already promised money once before and it was never paid out.

Trump did not answer that. He went after her.
