It hit me like a warm summer rain in this time so often marked by frightening images and news. It is a picture. Just a picture. A snapshot. Captured during the traditional towing march, where the "Weiße Düne," a 45-meter-long sailing ship, was pulled 4 kilometers along the Ryck River in Greifswald towards the Bodden. Eight men.
A few thick ropes. Following an old custom. And yet, it is so much more. It is about fighting together. Holding together. Being together. A path. A goal. Colorblind. And so, this picture is not just an image of tradition but also a symbol of hope. Hope that this omnipresent hatred of foreigners will one day come to an end.
