Not with us, you brown brothers of the sun

It takes only a few clicks, yet they can move worlds. Right-wing networks long ago understood that with brazen claims they can poison public debate. A tweet here, a share there — soon false headlines drift through timelines, are repeated in comment threads, radicalized in groups and finally believed as a felt truth. But precisely at that point there is an effective countermeasure: legal consequences.

On October 1, 2025, AfD International on X/Twitter stirred the pot with the claim that Oktoberfest had been closed after a bomb threat and that police were investigating so-called Antifa links. A picture of a police cordon, a few hashtags, and the old game: stage left-wing violence, relativize right-wing danger. Only that it was not even remotely true. Because the Munich police made clear: the large operation had nothing to do with Oktoberfest, nothing to do with Antifa, nothing to do with terrorism. It was about an inheritance dispute — a son, a family drama, shots fired, an arson, explosives found later in a private house. A brutal, but private crime.

The AfD, however, turned it into what it always does: a projection surface for its ideology. Where facts stand in the way, they are bent to fit. Where reality is awkward, it is reinterpreted. This is not an accident, it is method. Right-wing politics lives off the constant repetition of lies until they sink into people’s heads.

Therefore it is no longer enough to shake one’s head at such fake news or to correct it in explanatory threads. Whoever wants to be effective must resort to tougher means. Our principle is: Every lie is reported. No more letting things slide, no more “oh, it’s not worth it.” Every single falsehood that is spread deliberately ends up with the authorities. Not because we believe the AfD will change. But because each criminal complaint has an effect — within institutions, in the judicial apparatus, in public perception. And, you brothers of the brown sun, we are fighting very different battles than against you traveling circus.

That is how we acted this time. We filed a criminal complaint, initiated proceedings. The effort? Minimal. A few minutes online, the right forms, secure the evidence, done. But the effect? Potentially significant. Because what right-wing parties least tolerate is being confronted with the rules they constantly claim for themselves but never intend to follow. The message is clear: we will not be lied to. We will not allow a private family drama to be exploited for political incitement. And we will not allow the victims of such acts - in this case a family whose life lies in ruins - to be reduced to extras in a cynical propaganda show.

Those who vote AfD should know: this party does not live from solutions but from falsehoods. Those who read AfD posts should know: every sentence can be a lie. And those who spread AfD lies should know: there will be legal consequences. This is not harassment, this is the defense of democracy. With every criminal complaint against fake news a stake is driven in: up to here and no further. And with every proceeding it becomes clearer that these methods are not normal, must not be tolerated and will not go without consequences. We have grown used to right-wing propaganda firing continuously online. Now it is time to shoot back — not with their methods, but with the means of a rule-of-law that, as has already been routine against Trump, still works if you use it. Complaint after complaint, lie after lie. Because whoever seeks to bend the law must not enjoy impunity. And whoever undermines our democracy with false images and false claims must feel the blow: Not with us, you brown brothers of the sun.
