Taco, now it’s getting ridiculous – Trump’s most loyal suddenly in the crosshairs

Sometimes a single sentence is enough to feel the nervousness building in the background. For Donald Trump, that moment has now come - and the fear level is rising, with good reason. Because when a politician starts not only taking jabs at his opponents but also turning against his own ranks, it is more than just a slip-up. It is a signal. Trump is publicly distancing himself from those supporters who have defended him unconditionally for years, who have campaigned for him, donated, guarded ballot boxes, and applauded even the most absurd twists in his political theater with thunderous approval. The trigger? The simple demand to release the so-called Epstein files - a topic Trump himself has kept simmering for years with hints, tough talk, and vague promises.

When directly asked by a reporter whether he was essentially disowning his own supporters, his answer came without detour: “I have lost a lot of faith in certain people, yeah.” A remarkable statement from a man whose political survival has always been built on the unwavering faith of his base - and who now apparently is willing to call that very loyalty into question when it puts him too much under pressure. It feels like a scene from an absurd chamber play: the protagonist stands in the spotlight, flooded by stage lights, and suddenly turns against his own audience. And it is precisely this audience that has kept him on stage for years. The mistrust that Trump now proclaims so casually is not aimed at political opponents or critical media - but at those who have until now embraced every one of his narratives.

This is where the farce reaches its climax. Because while Trump publicly distances himself from his “questioning” supporters, the real issue remains untouched: Why does he refuse to release these documents? Why does he stay silent on the questions he himself once fueled? Instead of answers, there is now an attempt to discredit the questioners themselves - a tactic reminiscent of the proverbial child holding the board in front of its face as if that were the whole world. And so the performance tips into the grotesque. The idea that the most loyal of the loyal are now suddenly sitting in the dock while Trump strikes the pose of the disappointed patriarch leaves only one conclusion: Taco, now it’s getting ridiculous.
