Epstein’s Death - The Pathologist Who Disputes the Official Finding

byRainer Hofmann

February 16, 2026

Dr. Michael Baden was not the lead medical examiner at Jeffrey Epstein’s autopsy, but was present as an observer on behalf of Epstein’s estate. In that role, he followed the examination on site and documented his own professional impressions. He has now reiterated that calls for further investigation at the time were overridden in order to enforce the official determination of suicide. Baden emphasizes that both he and the responsible medical examiner initially believed that more information was necessary to clearly determine the cause and manner of death. His own findings were not conclusive at that time. In a later published, redacted version of the report, the manner of death was initially listed as undetermined; the boxes for suicide and homicide remained unchecked.

The release of new Epstein files confirms our investigation – Death in Cell 9 – Anatomy of an incident that never was an accident?

(Our article from February 04, 2026)

Jeffrey Epstein was no ordinary inmate. Not because of his notoriety, not because of his crimes, but because of the people connected to him within a system that prefers silence over accountability. When he was found dead on the morning of August 10, 2019, in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York, it did not mark the end of a case but the beginning of one of the most perplexing episodes in American judicial history. The official cause of death was ruled a suicide. But nearly everything that has emerged since then – crime scene photos, autopsy images, statements from pathologists, surveillance failures, contradictions from authorities – tells a different story.

In a later published, redacted version of the report, the manner of death was initially listed as undetermined. The fields for suicide and homicide remained blank. Officially documented were three fractures in the neck area. According to Baden, in five decades of forensic work he had never seen comparable injury patterns in suicides by hanging. Even a single fracture would require thorough review, two would mandate a comprehensive investigation. Three fractures in this constellation were, in his view, extraordinary. Baden maintains that the findings are more consistent with massive pressure applied to the neck than with a typical hanging. The ligature recovered at the scene, made from an orange bedsheet, also raised questions. It was later determined that it was not the material used in Epstein’s death. Even during the autopsy, he was troubled that the marks visible on the neck did not correspond to a smooth sheet. In his assessment, the markings suggested a different material.

He also criticized the handling of the crime scene. The body had been moved, guards provided no clear account of how he was found, and he was taken to the infirmary - a procedure Baden describes as unusual. Particularly serious, in his view, is that the exact time of death was not clearly established. That information, above all, could have helped resolve key questions. Federal authorities maintain their assessment and continue to state that there is no evidence of homicide. Yet the pathologist’s statements show that the forensic debate has not fallen silent. More than six years after Epstein’s death, not only political but also medical questions remain. And they have not been conclusively answered.

The Orange Shadow - New Revelations About the Night of Jeffrey Epstein's Death

(Our article from August 01, 2025)

In the endless series of mysteries surrounding the death of Jeffrey Epstein, a new, disturbing detail has emerged: In previously little-noticed surveillance footage from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York, a mysterious orange figure appears, climbing the stairs to his cell block on the night of Epstein's death. These images once again contradict the official account of the Department of Justice and raise the suspicion that the events of that night were far more complex than authorities admit. The footage shows only a narrow section of the staircase leading to Epstein's cell, and yet, in the grainy material, it is clearly visible how an orange shape moves upward at 10:40 p.m. on August 9, 2019 - the last recorded movement toward Epstein's cell before he was found dead in the morning.

Clarifying the circumstances of Epstein’s death can play a decisive role in the further assessment of the case and bring new perspectives into the investigation. Only those who examine the files and documents intensively and reconstruct the actual sequence of events can contribute to clarification and disclosure. That is exactly what we are doing - step by step.

All das passierte in Trumps 1. Amtszeit.
