It happened at the Sinclair gas station, at the intersection of Ventura Road and Wooley Boulevard in Oxnard, California - a place where people stop for a moment before moving on. But for two children in a truck, this stop ended in trauma. Their father, an undocumented migrant, was at the pump when suddenly several vehicles appeared. Six cars, heavy, grim, like a sudden storm front. ICE agents got out, surrounded the man. No questions, no hesitation - just action.

The children watched. They saw their father being taken away. They saw the men in uniforms, the cold faces, the guns at their sides.

We spoke recently with the gas station attendant, Juan Conches, who was visibly still in shock. He reported that at least six vehicles surrounded the man and took him into custody while his children were left behind in the truck.

The children - one a minor and the other a 19-year-old - were, according to ICE, old enough to be alone but unable to drive, stranded and powerless to leave. The gas station attendant later helped move the vehicle to another parking spot, and the children contacted their sister, who picked them up. 805 UndocuFund, a coalition of nonprofit organizations supporting immigrants on California's Central Coast, also assists the family.

ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to inquiries. No explanation, no compassion - just silence.

This silence is the true face of a deportation policy disguised as 'national security.' A policy that shatters people like glass, that tears families apart like paper. A president who presents himself as a 'guardian of the borders' lets his agents strike - ruthless, faceless, merciless.

The children in the truck are not an isolated case. They are part of a bloody record. International students detained at airports. People deported for minor violations. A couple from Orange County who had lived in the US for 35 years - deported despite having no criminal record.
