It was intended as a flagship project of the new deportation policy - now it stands as a symbol of state failure and unrestrained cruelty. The \u201cAlligator Alcatraz\u201d detention camp in the middle of the Everglades, established by the Trump administration as a temporary facility for migrants, has within just a few weeks become a monument to inhumanity. Reports from inside the camp speak of monstrous insects, non-functioning toilets, lack of access to water, constant artificial light, psychological deterioration - and the erasure of the most fundamental rights. Our investigations have uncovered numerous serious abuses at the \u201cAlligator Alcatraz\u201d detention facility. We are currently documenting every detail - every testimony, every photo, every official and unofficial piece of information - in order to prepare a comprehensive foundation for legal action by human rights and environmental protection organizations. What is happening in this camp exceeds every limit of what is bearable, every boundary of human dignity. No person deserves to be treated this way. The name may sound like a tourist attraction, but what happens behind the barbed wire is a nightmare. Three women whose husbands are detained there reported that their partners had not been able to shower for days. In two of the cases, the toilets reportedly had no water. Authorities in Florida deny the allegations - yet the statements coming from inside the camp are disturbingly consistent. \u201cThey don\u2019t have water, they can\u2019t properly use the toilet, they\u2019re not washing,\u201d said Eveling Ortiz, whose partner was detained by ICE. Reports about the wildlife are particularly drastic. Giant grasshoppers the size of a human hand have allegedly entered the tents, according to several men. Mosquitoes the size of small birds are said to be launching full-on attacks - one detainee was even taken to the hospital after his face swelled and the cause remained unclear. Medical care appears to be available only in absolute emergencies. And while Florida claims that \u201call plumbing systems are working,\u201d the detainees describe a very different reality. Temperatures in the camp are another issue: blistering heat during the day, freezing cold at night. One woman reported that the air conditioner had broken down when it was 95 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Another said there was \u201chot air, barely breathable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
