The worst things often begin in offices, at desks where nobody raises their voice. This one began that way too. On August 31, 2026, the Stendal Local Court entered the \"Institut f\u00fcr Remigration Martin Sellner (NGO) UG (limited liability)\" in the commercial register under HRB 38068. Its registered corporate seat is in Magdeburg, while its business address is in Chemnitz. Martin Sellner is the managing director. The articles of association date back to May 20, 2026. This is no longer something that can be described as merely a plan. The institute exists. According to the information available, Philipp Huemer, formerly head of the Vienna branch of the Identitarian Movement, is involved. Sellner no longer needs \"remigration\" as just a slogan. He has a company. There is something bleak about entries like this, about the patience with which a register accepts whatever is put before it. The harmless and the monstrous appear there in the same typeface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While people in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are still calling for \"dialogue on equal footing\" with the AfD, the administration of expulsion is taking shape here. That is exactly what we warned about in our article \"Let Them Vote First, Read the Platform Later: When Journalism Discovers Its Job After the Election.\" A strategy paper for Saxony-Anhalt already exists. In Sellner's vision, the state is supposed to become a \"model state for remigration.\" His institute is based in Magdeburg, the capital of that very state. So the office sits exactly where the plan is supposed to be put into practice. The proposal includes a dedicated \"State Office for Remigration\" and a tougher deportation policy. Existing temporary suspensions of deportation are to be reviewed. Then the paper widens its circle. People without secure residency status are only the beginning. It also names foreigners with legal residency as a possible target group. Then those it calls \"not assimilated.\" Every exclusion begins with a list, and every list has a tendency to grow longer. The Refugee Council warns that the paper even covers Germans with an immigrant background, although legally they cannot be deported at all. At some point, a word stops being just a word. You rarely notice the exact moment. It resembles the point when dusk turns into night. Here, you can watch it happen. A slogan turns into bureaucratic language, and people who were neighbors yesterday become cases inside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On its website, the institute already presents itself as an existing \"hub\" and asks for support. Only certain operational parts are still being built, and Sellner lists them himself. He writes of an international network of experts and lawyers, with academics to be added. Studies are planned, along with further papers. Right-wing think tanks from several countries are said to be involved. An international fellowship system is supposed to be created through Vienna and Saxony-Anhalt. A demographic data portal is intended to display \"population replacement\" and mark the point at which, by his calculation, there would be no turning back. Another paper on remigration in Germany is in the works. A dedicated editorial team is supposed to prepare dossiers for European countries. The network is to be expanded further. It all has the order of a ledger, column after column, carefully maintained. One day, people are supposed to stand in those columns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea that this is merely some detached circle of scholars does not survive a single sentence. His institute has contact with the \"remigration wing\" in almost all major European right-wing parties, Sellner claims. He cheers about the AfD: \"Brilliant! So many AfD politicians are following Trump's trend and committing to remigration in 2026.\" Sellner himself brings the American president into the picture. Nobody has to force that connection onto him. He puts it on the table himself, with the pride of a man who has finally found company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then he starts calling out names, the way names are called at roll call. Lena Kotr\u00e9. Matthias Helferich. Franz Schmid and Ren\u00e9 Aust are tagged, and others follow. Once a name has been called out, it no longer entirely belongs to itself. His followers are supposed to post more pictures or tag politicians \"who should join in.\" Sellner declares the campaign against his remigration idea since early 2024 a failure. According to his version, there had been an attempt to \"mentally castrate, gut, and split\" the AfD. The main targets had supposedly been migration policy and remigration. His verdict fits into 2 words: \"Mission failed.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is not how a petitioner talks outside the door of power. Sellner sees himself as a man whose idea has grown into a rising party. That is why the \"Trump trend\" carries so much weight. He praises AfD politicians for committing to it and stamps this development with an American seal. In another post, he asks his followers: \"Are you more on Maduro's side or Trump's?\" The world melts down to 2 portraits on a wall. A world with only 2 sides has no place left for anyone who doubts. What remains is allegiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 2026, Sellner is demanding \"general conscription in the information war for free speech and remigration.\" A \"general mobilization of the silent majority\" must begin. He lists more than 15 million AfD voters and more than 2.5 million FP\u00d6 voters as though he were reporting troop strength. Social pressure, he says, has never been weaker. Then comes the question: \"What are you waiting for?\" Language mobilizes the words first. People follow later. In this vocabulary, the ballot becomes a draft notice. The question sounds as though it is being shouted across an empty yard where nobody has lined up yet, and yet everyone is already expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If remigration fails, a \"Plan B\" is waiting in the drawer. In his book \"Strategy of Gathering,\" Sellner asks how much time remains and when the threshold will be reached beyond which nothing can be reversed. His alternative is called \"Reconquista.\" Berlin, he says, has \"NOT fallen.\" He describes the capital's political course as \"Islamo-Marxist.\" According to his account, Muslims have 57 countries in their \"Ummah.\" His own audience, he says, has only Berlin, and they should take it back. A city is a conversation between strangers that has been going on for centuries. Sellner wants to end it. Where people go to work in the morning and put their children to bed at night, he sees spoils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vienna, September 12, 2026, Kahlenberg. The city lies below, while history becomes a costume above. The far-right event is titled \"Heroes of Vienna! Commemoration of the Second Turkish Siege of Vienna in 1683.\" Sellner gives a speech. During it, representatives of the Identitarian Movement set up a sculpture they brought with them of the Polish King Jan III Sobieski. Afterward, Sellner writes: \"We will not rest until Sobieski stands on Kahlenberg and Vienna is Vienna again.\" Today, he says, Vienna is \"Islamized.\" He describes his own \"treacherous politicians\" as the main enemy. They would have to be removed from office before remigration could begin. Elsewhere he writes: \"Divided we will perish, united we will win and take back our homeland!\" 343 years after the battle, a king is carried up the mountain as a sculpture so he can be positioned against people's own neighbors. The dead from that time cannot defend themselves. Their faces are borrowed and sent into battle once again. This language does not decorate anything. It shows how Sellner thinks about politics - as a campaign of war. \"Conscription\" and \"general mobilization.\" Then \"Reconquista\" and the Battle of 1683. Behind these words now stands an institute. Nobody has to guess what it was built for. Its founder has written out its purpose himself, term by term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dresden, January 20, 2026. A stop on a reading tour, with the evening titled \"Martin Sellner in Dresden: Is There a Patriotic Spring?\" Doors at 6 p.m., start at 7 p.m. Buyers only learned the exact location by email. The organizer now explicitly lists the event among its past events. Looking back, that evening fits seamlessly into the structure Sellner openly describes today. His office had worked on the \"SaveEuropeAct.\" A bank account for the German company is currently being fought for. More money is supposed to allow faster growth. A bank account is the moment when a dream decides to stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the AfD? There is supposed to be a wall between it and Sellner. It has cracks. Sellner and Ulrich Siegmund attended the 2023 Potsdam meeting on \"remigration.\" Officially, the AfD lists the Identitarian Movement on its incompatibility list. Lena Kotr\u00e9 nevertheless appeared with Sellner in 2026. Maximilian M\u00e4rkl, spokesman for the Identitarian Movement, was also an AfD member and did not leave the party until February 2026, after that became public. In Sellner's own post, AfD politicians are celebrated for committing to his political guiding idea. Distance that exists only on paper is the politest form of closeness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to Sulamith Hensen's commentary article.<\/a> After the election, she called for a \"dialogue on equal footing\" with the AfD. She justified it by pointing to long trips to doctors and weak infrastructure, along with lower wages and fewer jobs. We had shown that the AfD's governing platform includes remigration, along with return policies and detention pending deportation. A deeper examination of that platform was not evident in her publicly available election coverage beforehand. Now, next to that call, there is an \"Institute for Remigration.\" It develops ideas for government administration and claims political contacts. Its founder explicitly connects it with AfD politicians and with what he calls the \"Trump trend.\" That makes the call for equal footing even more reckless. Long trips to doctors and bus connections remain real problems, and none of this makes them disappear. But they still must not obscure the political content of the person sitting across the table. Equal footing requires both sides to see a human being in the other. An office that wants to sort people does not know that level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talk to AfD voters? Of course. Investigate their problems? A duty. Turning that into a call for some special political dialogue with the party, while Sellner publicly builds a remigration apparatus and celebrates AfD politicians for following that course, remains journalistically reckless.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sellner is no longer waiting for someone to adopt his terms. He is founding institutions for them. The word became an office, and the office is supposed to become a state agency. The registry entry and strategy paper are lying openly on the table. The list of names is right beside them. People say disaster arrives without warning. This one registered itself in the commercial register, complete with a registered seat and business address. Democracy therefore knows its address. Whether it knocks on the door before the office becomes an agency is now up to democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know what we are talking about. We have seen ICE. We have documented what happens when deporting 75% innocent people becomes a central task of the state. When authorities stop weighing cases and start hunting. When people disappear because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. When even citizens are no longer safe because papers, skin color, or an accent are enough. What is still growing slowly in Germany has long been reality in the United States. And it is brutal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany is not a large country. It is about the size of the state of Montana. Germany is densely populated and fully trackable. A system like ICE would have different, faster, deeper consequences here. More control. More fear. More arbitrary power. Anyone who thinks this would affect only a few people is wrong. Systems like this grow. They need targets. And they find them. What is taking shape here is not a single proposal, but a complete picture. Reduce the population. Dismantle government institutions except where force is used. Select citizenship. Militarize deportation. Anyone who puts all of that together can see the direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It takes courage now. And it takes support. For journalism that looks closely. For documentation that refuses to be intimidated. For people who understand that every abyss begins at the edge. We are not speaking from assumption. We are speaking from experience. We have already looked it in the eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
