Washington D.C. - The case against Cole Tomas Allen is increasingly developing into an extraordinary political and legal spectacle in Washington. The defendant appeared Monday before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and entered a plea of not guilty through his attorneys. American prosecutors accuse him of entering the White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner at the Washington Hilton while armed and attempting to assassinate Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our investigation shows: A man who had everything - and suddenly reached for a weapon - the case of Cole Allen and his manifesto<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to investigators, Allen was armed with a shotgun, a handgun and several knives. During the intervention by security personnel, he allegedly fired the shotgun at a Secret Service officer. The officer was struck by shotgun pellets in his protective vest and survived the attack. To this day, it has not been conclusively confirmed whether the projectile that struck the vest actually came from Allen\u2019s weapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The footage also shows security personnel knocking down one of two magnetometers as the suspect runs toward them. An agent draws his weapon and opens fire. The images show four muzzle flashes from those shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The material provides the clearest view so far of how quickly the situation unfolded, as Allen appeared in federal court today for a hearing on his continued detention. So far, there are no images of shots fired by Cole Allen. The forensic report must be awaited before drawing premature conclusions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

At the time of the incident, Donald Trump, Melania Trump, JD Vance, cabinet officials, journalists and hundreds of guests were inside the building. Investigators later openly stated that the attack could easily have turned into a mass casualty event. Cole Tomas Allen sat before Judge Trevor McFadden in handcuffs and leg shackles during the hearing. He wore orange jail clothing and did not speak a single word during the brief proceeding. The plea was entered by his defense attorneys Eugene Ohm and Abe Lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the legal battle is now increasingly shifting onto another level. The defense is demanding the removal of senior Justice Department officials from the case. Specifically, the issue involves Todd Blanche and Jeanine Pirro. Attorneys Eugene Ohm and Abe Lane argue that both could themselves become possible witnesses or affected parties because they were allegedly near the event during the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Trevor McFadden did not issue a final decision on the matter. Instead, he demanded more specific information from the defense regarding how broad the requested removal should be and which individuals would specifically be affected. The case is therefore increasingly evolving into an explosive mixture of security proceedings, terrorism investigation and political power struggle inside Washington. While prosecutors are attempting to portray the attack as an attempted assassination of a sitting president, the defense is now openly beginning to attack the structure of the prosecution itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack shocked Washington at the end of April. The fact that an armed man apparently attempted to penetrate one of the most sensitive political events in the United States once again triggered massive debates about security failures, political violence and radicalization in the country. The next court hearing in the case is scheduled for June 29, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. before Judge Trevor McFadden at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
