The notes sound chaotic, off-key and completely wild. That is exactly why many people laugh again for the first time in days. In Southern California, the organization Mini Therapy Horses regularly visits hospitals, veteran centers, schools and facilities for traumatized people with nine miniature horses. The animals can smile, give high-fives, kick small balls and even stand on their hind legs. But they became famous mainly because of their absurd keyboard performances.

Behind the idea is Victoria Nodiff-Netanel from California. Her fascination with horses began during childhood. She drew horses, collected horse figurines and later began riding herself. She originally bought her first miniature horse simply as a pet. The small mare Black Pearl gradually learned tricks, pulled tiny carts and eventually became a therapy animal. The decisive moment came in 2009 inside Victoria’s living room. While Victoria was playing piano, she playfully pressed Black Pearl’s nose onto a key. The horse then received a reward. Through patience and daily training, Black Pearl eventually learned to independently play on a portable keyboard.

Today, Victoria trains her animals for years. The horses live on property in Calabasas near Los Angeles. There they are conditioned to loud noises, hectic movement and close contact with people. Volunteers hug the animals, touch their hooves and walk them past barking dogs, garbage trucks and jackhammers. The goal is for the horses to remain calm even in stressful situations. The animals now visit intensive care units, cancer wards, veteran centers and children’s hospitals. Some patients see the miniature horses immediately after surgery. Others are battling severe trauma or are in hospice care. One hospital even reported that a dying patient specifically requested to see one of the horses one final time before passing away.

The group became especially well known last summer when a video of Black Pearl went viral. In the clip, the tiny horse plays keyboard for a child waking up from anesthesia. Within a short period of time, the video was viewed tens of millions of times. Victoria Nodiff-Netanel says the animals often immediately sense whether people want to play, laugh or simply be held quietly. Some horses gently rest their heads against patients. Others create hallway chaos with squeaking rubber chickens or bizarre keyboard sounds. Especially in hospitals where fear, pain and uncertainty dominate daily life, apparently all it sometimes takes is a tiny horse with a cheap keyboard to completely transform a room.

Moscow Apparently Planned Drone Warfare Against American Troops in the Persian Gulf!

In the middle of the war surrounding Iran, more and more information is now emerging showing just how far military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran may already extend. According to a secret document from Russian military intelligence, the GRU, Russia allegedly offered Iran thousands of combat drones for potential attacks against American troops in the Persian Gulf. The document appears to originate from the first weeks of the current war involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

According to the document, Moscow planned to deliver 5,000 fiber-optic FPV drones. These systems are considered especially dangerous because they can barely be disrupted by electronic jamming systems. Russia also reportedly offered Iran long-range drones equipped with Starlink satellite connections. According to additional information, the documents even contain maps of the Iranian coastline, attack plans and concrete scenarios for possible American landings on Iranian territory or islands inside the Persian Gulf.

Particularly explosive is a section discussing so-called drone swarms. It describes how groups of five to six drones could be launched simultaneously from concealed positions against American landing ships. Khark Island also appears as a possible focal point. The island contains Iran’s most important oil terminal and has apparently long been viewed by Western military planners as a strategic target.

According to further details, Vladimir Putin himself allegedly offered support for expanding Iran’s drone capabilities. For operator training, the GRU reportedly planned a network involving Iranian students in Russia, Russian- and Persian-speaking Tajiks and members of Syria’s Alawite minority with ties to the former Assad regime. According to the document, discussions even involved the possible use of around 10,000 Iranian students living in Russia.

The development shows how closely Russia and Iran are now cooperating militarily. While Iran supported Russia during the Ukraine war with Shahed drones, Moscow now appears to be returning advanced drone technology, combat experience and new attack concepts. Fiber-optic FPV drones in particular are now considered among the most dangerous systems on the modern battlefield because they often remain controllable even under massive electronic interference.

Iran Openly Threatens Attacks on American Bases

Dubai - The ceasefire between Iran and the United States officially still holds. At the same time, the rhetoric between both sides is becoming increasingly dangerous. Following American attacks on two Iranian oil tankers, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are now openly threatening severe retaliation against American military bases and ships in the region. According to Iranian state media, the Revolutionary Guard Navy declared that every attack on Iranian tankers or commercial vessels would be answered with a “massive strike.” Once again, the escalation centers around the Strait of Hormuz. The United States now controls large portions of shipping traffic there. According to U.S. Central Command, dozens of commercial vessels have been pushed back or stopped since the American blockade began in April. Several ships were reportedly even “disabled.” Washington accuses Iran of militarily controlling the strait and severely restricting international shipping.

Tehran

Iran, meanwhile, describes American actions as provocations and is now also warning other countries in the region. Bahrain in particular is coming under pressure. The country hosts the U.S. Fifth Fleet and recently announced the arrest of 41 individuals allegedly linked to the Revolutionary Guards. Authorities claim the group was collecting money for Iranian operations. Human rights organizations, however, accuse Bahrain of using the war as a pretext for new repression against the country’s Shiite majority population. Meanwhile, international concern over another explosion in energy prices continues growing. Iran still effectively maintains a military blockade over large portions of the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, the United States is attempting to economically isolate Iranian ports. Global shipping traffic therefore remains heavily disrupted. Britain is now deploying the destroyer HMS Dragon into the region. France is also preparing additional naval deployments. Both countries are working on a possible international protection mission for commercial vessels after the fighting ends.

Diplomatic negotiations are also continuing behind the scenes. Pakistan says it remains in contact with both Washington and Tehran “day and night.” Russia and Saudi Arabia are likewise pushing for a permanent agreement. Vladimir Putin has once again proposed placing enriched uranium from Iran under international control. The goal would be a new agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, many questions remain unanswered. Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has still not appeared publicly. Reports of injuries sustained during the first attacks of the war are further increasing uncertainty inside the country. While officials continue speaking of a ceasefire, the situation in the Persian Gulf now appears more dangerous than it did only weeks ago.

“There Is No Separation of Church and State” - Trump’s Religious Commission Directly Attacks the American Constitution

Donald Trump’s new Religious Freedom Commission is now openly working to roll back the decades-old separation between church and state in the United States. During a meeting in April, several members demanded not only greater religious influence over schools, government agencies and courts, but even openly questioned the foundations of the American constitutional system itself. Particularly striking was Republican politician Dan Patrick from Texas, who chairs the commission. In front of participants, he literally declared that separation of church and state is “a lie.” He even proposed a nationwide campaign involving stickers and automated hotlines spreading the message: “There is no separation of church and state.” Apparently nobody in the room objected.

The commission consists largely of evangelical preachers, conservative Catholic activists and political allies of Trump. Many of the proposals focus on dramatically expanding religious exemptions and privileges. Discussions included new exemptions from vaccine requirements, stronger religious influence inside public schools, more government funding for religious organizations and broader protections for businesses or institutions invoking religious objections. Several members additionally demanded government support for people who encountered conflicts with labor laws, healthcare regulations or equality rules because of conservative religious views. One participant even argued that a baker should receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom for refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

American immigration policy also played a role. Catholic Bishop Robert Barron called for stronger protection of migrants’ religious rights in detention centers, while simultaneously insisting that Catholic organizations should continue receiving government funding without being forced to alter traditional views on family structures and gender roles. Critics now accuse the commission of representing almost exclusively conservative Christian interests while attempting to politically restructure religious power inside the United States. Several progressive religious groups have already filed lawsuits. They argue that the commission is ideologically one-sided and violates federal law requiring government advisory bodies to include diverse viewpoints.

Particularly alarming is the commission’s closeness to the current administration. Several commission members simultaneously participate in additional Trump initiatives, including prayer events at the White House and campaigns against alleged “anti-Christian discrimination.” While Donald Trump has spent years declaring that America must “bring back God,” his closest religious allies are now increasingly openly working to erase the boundary between political power and religious authority.

Trump’s New “Tourism Minister” Immediately Becomes a National Joke

Donald Trump’s new special envoy Nick Adams apparently hoped to celebrate a triumphant debut. Instead, the self-described “Minister of Tourism” received ridicule, mockery and open contempt within minutes. Adams, a former MAGA influencer from Australia, proudly announced in his first statement that he felt honored to serve as America’s first “Minister of Tourism” under Trump. His mission, he claimed, would be to represent travel, tourism and the United States itself as a brand. The wording alone immediately triggered disbelief online.

Many people instantly asked whether the United States had now begun handing out ministerial titles like authoritarian governments. Others openly mocked the entire spectacle. HuffPost reporter S.V. Date dryly wrote: “We have become the dumbest country.” Even conservative voices reacted with confusion. Republican podcaster Liam Donovan joked that he too would enjoy receiving a fantasy diplomatic position without actual confirmation.

Adams can only be described as “one of Australia’s worst exports.” In his statement, Adams repeatedly spoke about serving Donald Trump - not serving his adopted country. For years, Nick Adams has been one of the loudest figures inside the MAGA world. He became known through exaggerated Trump worship, aggressive online performances and constant self-promotion. The fact that he is now supposedly representing the United States as a kind of official tourism ambassador struck many users as yet another bizarre expansion of the Trump administration.

The real damage came less from political criticism than from the impression of complete self-parody. While Washington simultaneously struggles with the Iran crisis, economic pressure and growing international tensions, hundreds of thousands of users suddenly found themselves debating why the United States now apparently has a “Tourism Minister” wrapped in MAGA branding.

Party stage ...

Hungary’s Health Minister-designate Zsolt Hegedűs danced in front of the Parliament building in Budapest after the country’s new National Assembly and Péter Magyar were sworn in. Alongside newspapers, news networks and late-night comedians, the ABC talk show “The View” has suddenly become the center of a political battle over free speech and government pressure on the media. Behind the scenes, the Federal Communications Commission has reportedly been investigating for months whether the program violated old political equal-time rules. Officially, the issue concerns whether rival candidates received sufficient airtime. For ABC, however, the investigation increasingly appears like a direct assault on editorial independence ahead of the 2026 congressional elections.

The case appears particularly questionable because “The View” still commands enormous influence despite streaming platforms, podcasts and social media. Around 2.7 million people watch the show every day. Most viewers are older women - exactly the demographic that often decides election outcomes in several swing states. The program was originally created by Barbara Walters to bring together women of different generations and political viewpoints. Donald Trump himself was once a frequent guest. For years, he used the show to promote his hotels, businesses and family. Alongside Ivanka Trump or Melania Trump, he repeatedly appeared at the hosts’ table. At the time, “The View” was still considered a perfect advertising platform for him.

The break only came after Trump entered politics. Conflicts with Rosie O’Donnell and later with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar gradually transformed the show into a center of open Trump criticism. Today, the hosts are among his fiercest opponents on American television. At the same time, several prominent Trump allies have recently declined invitations to appear on the show, including JD Vance, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Marco Rubio and Elon Musk. ABC is now openly accusing the administration of weaponizing government agencies to intimidate political opponents. In a public statement, the network warned that the FCC investigation could have chilling consequences for free expression. Company attorneys are reportedly already preparing for a lengthy constitutional battle that could ultimately reach the Supreme Court.

Conservative groups, meanwhile, argue that “The View” operates as one-sided political influence disguised as entertainment. The show’s enormous reach among older female voters apparently makes it especially problematic for Republican strategists. The dispute therefore long ago stopped being merely about a television program. It has become a broader fight over how far a government may go once critical media no longer merely appear annoying - but politically dangerous.

    Independent Journalism · Kaizen Blog

We are where,
hurts wehtut.

We do not sit in comfort writing about the world - and we do not stop once the writing ends.
