On Wednesday evening, a federal agent wounded a man during an operation in the northern part of the city. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the man is a Venezuelan who was to be taken into custody. He was hit in the leg and taken to the hospital. The agent also required medical treatment. According to initial information, there was no danger to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignwide\"><video height=\"480\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 640 \/ 480;\" width=\"640\" controls src=\"https:\/\/kaizen-blog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/orlando190-91.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The official account comes exclusively from Washington. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said the man had evaded arrest during a targeted traffic stop, fled, and later attacked the agent. Two other individuals allegedly intervened and attacked the agent with a snow shovel handle and a broom. The agent feared for his life and fired his weapon. This version could not initially be independently verified. The city only confirmed that the injuries of the person who was shot were not life-threatening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignwide\"><video height=\"568\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 320 \/ 568;\" width=\"320\" controls src=\"https:\/\/kaizen-blog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/minesnow2.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>What followed. Within a short time, hundreds of people gathered at the presumed scene. They shouted at police officers, blocked streets, and demanded the arrest of the federal agents. Local police visibly withdrew. A supervisor told those present openly that they themselves did not know exactly what had happened - the federal authorities were not sharing information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignwide\"><video height=\"564\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 320 \/ 564;\" width=\"320\" controls src=\"https:\/\/kaizen-blog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shoIImennea.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly afterward, heavily armed Border Patrol agents arrived in a militarized vehicle. Demonstrators surrounded the vehicle, threw snowballs, and shouted. The agents pulled back and deployed tear gas. A few minutes later, ICE agents arrived in an unmarked SUV and sprayed chemical agents directly into the faces of protesters. At least two people were arrested. A civilian vehicle with police markings was damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignwide\"><video height=\"320\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 320 \/ 320;\" width=\"320\" controls src=\"https:\/\/kaizen-blog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/mineanow4.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The scene is only a few miles from where an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good a week earlier. That death has changed the city. Since then there have been daily protests, open anger, and growing mistrust. The mayor of Minneapolis again demanded that ICE immediately leave the city and the state. The governor of Minnesota spoke shortly before the renewed shooting of an occupation that must be ended. Around 3,000 federal agents are currently deployed in the greater Minneapolis area. The federal government defends this massive presence by pointing to law enforcement and fraud prevention. On the ground it is experienced as a show of force. Schools report fear, neighborhoods paralysis, city officials loss of control. A pastor from the area around the scene said it was no longer abstract, but had arrived directly at people\u2019s own doorsteps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What stands out is who is investigating this time - and who is not. Officers from the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the state police were on site to provide security. The investigative role remained unclear. The same state investigative authority that was sidelined in the death of Renee Good again appeared only on the margins. The parallels are unmistakable. Two shootings in seven days, two official versions, no independent clarification. Minneapolis is not facing an escalation, it has long since arrived. What is sold as the enforcement of federal law is dismantling trust, cooperation, and any notion of public safety on the ground. The question is no longer whether the situation will intensify further. The question is how many more shots it will take before someone takes responsibility.
