Anger meets enforcement, morality meets law. “You can’t just smash windows,” passersby shout, as if the glass itself were the real line. The officers act on orders, not on morality. Those who ignore instructions experience how a window becomes a door. The tone in the parking lot is cutting, the words are harsh, the lines clearly drawn. But the shouts bounce off, the measure continues. For those affected, the moment does not end in the shouting, but in custody. The word “anchor baby” is used, as a label, not as an explanation. (This refers to children who are born in the United States and thus receive US citizenship, while their parents do not have secure legal status). The scene shows less a collision than America 2026: expectations of restraint versus enforcement of decisions. Law does not appear quiet here, but visible. Above it, just one word: Soon. It is not satire, but an expression of a political longing for expansion. That such a post comes from precisely this milieu fits the rhetoric in which other cultures, origins, and self determination count for nothing. Greenland is not seen here as a society, but as conquerable space. The colonial gesture is unmistakable. Those who strip migrants of rights, separate children, and destabilize states eventually also speak openly about annexation. The post is a continuation of a mindset that turns everything into property that does not resist. The United States under Trump, as envisioned in these circles, knows no limits – neither moral nor geopolitical. Tens of thousands of people without electricity, heating, or information – for days. A claim of responsibility has now emerged that state security authorities consider authentic. It was written by the so called Volcano Group, which is assigned to the anarchist spectrum. The perpetrators speak of international solidarity and a “public good oriented act.” What is meant is the sabotage of fossil energy, but what was hit above all were residential neighborhoods, care facilities, and small businesses. The apology to poorer affected residents appears cynical, the lack of sympathy for villa owners revealing. According to Economics Senator Giffey, the lines were attacked with a destructive force that even bulletproof protective devices would not have been expected to withstand. Repairs require specialized expertise, complex technology, and a construction site lasting several days. What was announced as political protest appears in reality like a gift to right wing security rhetoric. In a nationwide radio and television address, the defense minister declares that Maduro remains the legitimate president of Venezuela. The arrest allegedly followed the killing of large parts of his security team, and soldiers and civilians were also killed, though Padrino López does not name specific numbers. He speaks of imperial aggression and emphasizes the unity of the armed forces. While Maduro and his wife are in custody, the power apparatus remains largely intact. At its head now stands interim president Delcy Rodríguez, previously vice president under Maduro. The military, for years the arbiter of political conflicts in the country, has clearly positioned itself behind Rodríguez. The Trump administration hinted openly that its focus could also turn toward the Caribbean. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said openly that a government in Havana would have every reason to be worried. The Cuban leadership responded with a rally in support of Venezuela and warned of a threat to all states in the region. An official statement said no country should feel safe. Many people are following developments with growing fear. Residents speak of an attack on a sovereign state and fear a repetition in Cuba. The idea of becoming a target at any time runs deep. Cuba has seen itself under pressure from Washington for decades. Rubio continues to describe the country as a dictatorship that represses its population. His words reinforce the impression that the escalation may not remain limited to Venezuela. In Havana, it is closely observed how quickly threats turn into actions.

“We urgently need Greenland” – Trump’s old fantasy returns

“We urgently need Greenland,” Donald Trump said on January 4, 2026, and by that he did not mean cooperation, but access. At the same time, he threatened the Venezuelan transitional figure Delcy Rodríguez with a fate that would be worse than that of Nicolás Maduro. Greenland appears as an object of strategic desire, Venezuela as a lesson in enforced order. States are not described as societies, but as areas with utility. Diplomacy plays no role, nor does law. What remains is the tone: possessiveness, threat, self certainty. After Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump is now widely regarded by many as the second dangerous figure for world peace. The reason given is the seizure of Nicolás Maduro, which abruptly changed the situation on the ground. In a filing, the department concedes that it is currently unable to say how proper procedures can be implemented. The cases concern deportations under the Alien Enemies Act, a rarely used wartime statute. The request: seven days’ delay to examine possible solutions. The document makes visible how much political operations place the judiciary under pressure. Decisions were carried out while legal safeguards lag behind. The question of hearings, review, and individual assessment remains open. The court is asked to wait because circumstances have changed. For those affected, this means uncertainty, for the rule of law a delicate gap. Procedures are meant to create order, not to be explained after the fact.
